Recertifications

NOTE: December, January and February are BY FAR the most popular months to send in recertifications.
Please bear with us and understand that lead times to finish and return recerts during these months may be longer than 3 weeks.

If you need your device back faster than our standard chronological order workflow, there is a $25 fee to move to the front of the line for RUSH services.

Before you recertify... Have you heard about our trade in deal?

 

WHAT IS A RECERTIFICATION?

 SFI requires that all 38.1 Spec. head and neck restraints be replaced or recertified every 5 years. The silver and blue SFI sticker on your device should have a hole punched on the year and date that your device was either manufactured, or last recertified. If the date punched is more than 5 years ago, it needs to be replaced or recertified. 

 The process for recertifications is fairly simple. We disassemble the restraint, inspect it, replace the tether and any other necessary parts that may be needed for it to last another 5 years at least. Once the restraint is deemed to be in good condition, a new SFI sticker is applied and the recertified restraint is returned to it's owner, valid for another  5 years. 

 A recertification is NOT a reconditioning, or refresh, and it does not mean that ALL parts and hardware will be replaced. It is not NecksGen's job to clean and do basic maintenance on your restraint. Any extra cleaning that must be done to properly inspect the restraint will be subject to a minimum $25 cleaning fee. Damaged, misused, or modified restraints will not, and can not be recertified. No exceptions. If you should desire certain cosmetic repairs such as stickers, velcro, etc. to be replaced at the time of recertification, leave a note on your form and if extra fees are necessary for this then we will contact you. Otherwise, if you send in an ugly, dusty unit, you'll get it back just how you sent it, but with a new tether and new sticker. 

What to send in:
Please send us your device with the pad/pads, and the form above. We do not need your helmet hardware. Please do not include any extra items in your box like wrenches, sticker kits, etc., as those may not get returned. 

***Once we receive your device we will give an initial inspection and then email you a click to pay invoice with the cost breakdown. We will not begin work on your recertification until the invoice is paid.***
